Every Level of Support Builds the Ecosystem

From community whānau and local supporters contributing micro-capital, to philanthropic trusts, government regional grants, and commercial infrastructure investors, every dollar helps build a resilient bio-economy for Te Tai Tokerau (Northland). We welcome conversations with anyone who shares our vision for regenerated whenua, local trade jobs, and warm, healthy homes.

Flexible Pathways for Participation

Building a self-sustaining bio-economy requires diverse forms of capital and partnership. There are flexible entry points across our regional supply chain for every scale of supporter:

1. Whānau & Community Supporters

Grassroots support, crowd-funding, and micro-capital pathways that directly help fund regional grower education, practical workshop equipment, small-scale equipment and early-stage setup across Te Tai Tokerau.

2. Grants, Philanthropy & Regional Enablement

Government grants, regional development funds, and philanthropic contributions focused on regional economic growth, decarbonisation, soil health, trade training, and warm papakāinga housing outcomes.

3. Impact Capital & Iwi Asset Boards

Patient capital seeking dual-bottom-line returns, focusing on intergenerational land value, localised trade jobs, carbon reduction, and co-funding agricultural working capital or grower equipment fleets.

4. Commercial Infrastructure & Processing

Capital deployed into high-margin midstream decortication equipment, processing hubs, and manufacturing infrastructure (such as Kōrikoriko Hemp Aotearoa), backed by physical machinery assets and strong local import displacement demand.

5. Non-Monetary Partnerships & Volunteer Collaborators

Capital isn't only measured in dollars. We warmly welcome passionate individuals, student researchers, and skilled volunteers wanting to contribute time, agronomic knowledge, trade skills, event organising, or local community support to help get this regional industry off its feet.

Transparent, Outcome-Focused Collaboration

We recognise that every funder and investor has distinct priorities:

  • Commercial Investors: Seeking clear asset backing, operational efficiency, and sustainable commercial returns.

  • Impact & Iwi Partners: Focused on land utilisation, localised trade jobs, carbon reduction, and long-term regional wealth retention.

  • Government & Philanthropic Funders: Focused on regional economic development, warm housing outcomes, and regenerative land stewardship.

Our role is to help you direct your support or capital to the part of the ecosystem that aligns with your goals.
