Locally processed Hempcrete (available from early 2028) will bridge the gap between agricultural land production and community housing needs:

1. Whenua Regeneration: Industrial hemp crops are cultivated by local Ahu Whenua trusts, cleaning soil and generating land revenue.

2. Local Processing: Raw stalks will be processed locally into quality hurd by Kōrikoriko Hemp Aotearoa, a fully Māori-owned company.

3. Papakāinga Construction: Processed hurd is supplied directly to papakāinga projects and local tradespeople, creating warm, healthy homes for whānau.
